To any Auckland or Hamilton customers who were inconvenienced today...

Firstly, a sincere thank you for your patience as we have navigated today’s unexpected disruption in Auckland and Hamilton, where some of our contractors withheld pick-up and delivery services.

We have done our utmost to clear the vast majority of freight during the day. There has been good recovery, and we are expecting things to return to normal tomorrow. If you have had any packages that were not collected today, we assure you that they will be dealt with tomorrow morning.

We would also like to assure you that our linehaul network has not been impacted by today’s disruption. So for freight that was collected today, your receivers should experience the usual reliable service.

Apologies for any inconvenience caused today,  we value your understanding and support.

Tuesday 28 October 11:25am - Some contractor disruption Auckland & Hamilton

We’ve been notified this morning that some of our contractors in Auckland and Hamilton may not be completing their usual pick-ups or deliveries today. This disruption is expected to last for one day only.

As a result, there may be minor delays in certain areas across Auckland and Hamilton. We’ve implemented contingency plans to maintain service coverage and minimise any impact on our customers.

We’re grateful that the majority of our contractors continue to operate as usual, maintaining the high level of professionalism our customers and receivers expect from us. We’ll also be prioritising medical and other critical-to-life items to ensure they are delivered as quickly as possible.

Tuesday 28 October 8:30am - South Island snowfall

Due to significant heavy snowfall in the South Island yesterday, several destinations in the South Island will not receive freight today:

  • Tekapo
  • Twizel
  • Omarama
  • Otemetata
  • Middlemarch

There may also be delays to freight into the small regional towns serviced by our Ashburton, Timaru and Dunedin couriers.  Interisland Ferries are experiencing delays currently due to the weather and electrical outages in Picton.

Friday 24 October – Severe weather has eased

Following the State of Emergency and Red Level Weather Warnings yesterday, our teams are working hard to reposition delayed freight and return to normal pick-up and delivery services.

There will be some delays and we ask for our customers and receivers patience as we catch-up on delayed parcel movements.

Thursday 23 October – Extreme winds & weather impacting courier pick-ups & deliveries

As extreme wind and weather is hitting the South Island and lower North Island - our team is working to a 'safety first' protocol - this means that some pick-ups and deliveries will not happen until the extreme weather lessens - there will also be same-day freight movements impacted.

We continue to review the situation and implement contingency plans where possible - however, in some areas, access will not be safe until the severe weather eases.

Our aim is to ensure parcels reach their destinations as safely and quickly as possible, however there are a number of regions that are unsafe for pick-up/delivery and inter-city connection.

Hawkes Bay Anniversary Day - Observed Friday 25th October 2025

Hawkes Bay Anniversary Day will be observed on Friday 25th October.

The holiday applies to Hawkes Bay Region. Wairoa Branch will also be closed. Gisborne will trade as normal.

Please be aware that standard deliveries will not be made in these areas on Friday 25th October - this is particularly relevant for time sensitive or perishable items.

Thursday 23 October – Possible delays in Auckland City during the middle of the day

Strike Action in Auckland Central City in the middle of the day may cause minor delays for courier pick-ups and deliveries, especially in the Queen Street area.

Wednesday 22 October – Nelson/Blenheim and surrounding areas are impacted by fires, flooding and downed trees and power poles

Flooding on SH7 and rain/wind on SH1 has seen much of the top of the South Island either cut-off or main freight routes blocked.

Most inbound and outbound Nelson and Blenheim freight is not able to be connected, and significant delays are expected to be in place for a couple of days.

Any perishable / cold chain or time sensitive items moving moving into or out of the area should not be dispatched today.

For updates on individual courier items, please click here for track and trace. If only a 'Pick-up' scan is showing, it is likely items are stuck in transit (and we will not be able to supply you with additional information).

Inter-Island 2-day freight is being heavily impacted, with at least one day's delay expected for items currently moving.

Our teams in the South Island are doing their utmost to get courier items moving again, but there is expected to be some level of disruption for the remainder of the week.
