Brother TD-4420TN - Factory Reset (Printer Initialization)

A factory reset will clear the printer’s memory (DRAM) and restore it to its original factory settings.

⚠️ Please note: This will remove any custom settings currently configured on the printer.


How to Perform a Factory Reset

Turn off the printer.

Press and hold the Feed/Pause button.

While continuing to hold the button, turn the printer back on.

Keep holding the button and watch the LED indicator.
Release the button when the LED lights green (5 times) - this occurs after the amber light flashes five times.

During the reset process, the LED will change in the following order:

The LED color will change in the following order:
Amber > Red (5 times) > Amber (5 times) > Green (5 times) (Release the button here) > Green/Amber (blinks 5 times alternately) > Red/Amber (blinks 5 times alternately) > Green (lit)


Once complete, the printer will restart with factory default settings restored.
