Roading crews cleared the roads to Wairoa and Gisborne and our linehaul trucks managed to get through.

The freight sort teams have sorted the freight and our couriers are out delivering.

Wairoa is still catching up from yesterday, but we should be on top of it by the end of today.

Wednesday 26 June - Hastings District - Haumoana / Wairoa - State of Emergency

State of Emergency has been declared in the Heretaunga Ward in Hastings District due to coastal inundation in Haumoana.

<<update late-morning - Gisborne heavily impacted>>

<<update mid-morning - Wairoa now in State of Emergency>>

There will be some freight delays in the surrounding area especially in Gisborne and Wairoa (which are reliant on coastal road connections).

Couriers will not be completing deliveries to areas that are not safe. The current forecast is suggesting that weather impact could continue for another 24 hours.

Monday 24 June - Dangerous Goods / Moving Non-DGLQ Inter-Island Difficult at Present

<<Wed 26 June>> We have received notice that Dangerous Goods (DG's) can once again travel on the ferries between Islands.  Please resume sending DG's Inter-Island <<Wed 26 June>>

The Inter-Island ferry Aratere was grounded over the weekend.

Until this service resumes, Inter-Island road freight must move on alternate ferries. We have been advised that non-DGLQ cannot move on the same sailing as passengers.

Customers sending non-DGLQ items, should separate consignments (DGLQ and non-DGLQ). If consigned together, the non-DGLQ portion will not be moved at present.

Customers should not send non-DGLQ currently.

If you have consigned both non-DGLQ and DGLQ together, then please expect split deliveries or delays on these items.

We are hoping for a swift resolution of this situation.
