Domestic Delivery Updates

Friday 17 October – Delays expected between Hamilton & New Plymouth (but roads are currently open)

Roads are currently open, however further works are required to repair damage caused by this week’s heavy rainfall and high floodwaters, works will recommence from Monday 20 October.

Sections of SH3, SH4 and SH43 will have multiple sites under stop/go traffic controls over the coming 2-3 weeks, and additional travel time is expected.

More wet weather is forecast across parts of the region in the coming week. There may well be some delays in the linehaul of courier items.  


Thursday 16 October – Road closed between Hamilton & New Plymouth

Latest advice from NZTA is that road closures are likely to remain in place until Friday evening. Our teams continue to move freight via alternative routes which does push back connection times.  

For the remainder of the week, we continue to advise that items moving between Auckland; Hamilton; Bay of Plenty >>> to/from New Plymouth may not achieve next day delivery (any perishable; cold chain; time sensitive items are moved at sender's risk).


Tuesday 14 October – Delays between Hamilton & New Plymouth

UPDATE ON THE BELOW>>> 

Due to rising water levels, crews are unable to clear the roads until the flooding subsides.

Closures are expected to remain in place until Thursday morning (16 October). This means that perishable / cold chain or time sensitive items moving between Auckland; Hamilton; Bay of Plenty  >>> to/from New Plymouth may not achieve next day delivery (we recommend that perishable; cold chain; time sensitive items are not sent at this time).


10.30am Tuesday 14 October – Possible delays between Hamilton & New Plymouth

Serious slips are currently blocking the road between Hamilton and New Plymouth - at this stage we are uncertain if the road will be open in time for tonight’s networks connections.

If freight needs to be diverted tonight, several hours will be added to connection time (which could result in significant courier delays) .

Any perishable / cold chain or time sensitive items moving between Auckland; Hamilton; Bay of Plenty  >>> to/from New Plymouth should not be dispatched today.
