From Tuesday 27th Jan 2026, shipments created with FedEx via the GSS system will no longer necessarily require extra labels or a commercial invoice for some countries. 

INTERNATIONAL EXPRESS – FEDEX LABEL AND COMMERCIAL INVOICE PRINTING REQUIREMENTS

Historically, FedEx required multiple copies labels or commercial invoices, but this is now dependent on whether the sending or receiving countries support electronic documents (ETD).

Prior to Jan 2026, all FedEx shipments returned 2 extra copies of the label (AWB) and PDF commercial invoice for printing.

Going forward, we will only return the required number of labels and commercial invoices for a given country. For example, some shipments will only return 1 label, and no commercial invoice and others will return multiple copies of both.

You only need to print what is given to you when you create the shipment.
